Writers Write creates and shares writing resources. In this post, we share 10 elements of writing style for bloggers, which includes advice from Strunk & White.
Writers and editors love The Elements of Style, a popular, compact writing style guide. Writers often include it in their lists of favourite books on writing.
The book includes eight “elementary rules of usage”, ten “elementary principles of composition”, “a few matters of form”, a list of 49 “words and expressions commonly misused”, and a list of 57 “words often misspelled”.
The guide is often called Strunk & White, after its two authors, William Strunk & E.B. White. In 2011, Time named it one of the 100 best and most influential books written in English.
