1. You’re not a writer because you put pretty words on a page. You’re a writer because you create stories people will never forget.
2. You’re not a writer because you have superpowers. You’re a writer because you work super hard at the craft of storytelling.
3. You’re not a writer because you’re on a talk show, or own a fleet of cars or a mansion in the Cayman islands. You’re a writer because you can’t imagine doing anything else.
4. You’re not a writer because you’ve published a novel – or ten. You’re a writer because you can’t wait to write all the novels you haven’t yet published.
5. You’re not a writer because you wear tweed jackets or horn-rimmed glasses. You’re a writer because you’re writing every word with your soul naked and exposed.
6. You’re not a writer because you have talent. You’re a writer because you sit down to write every day, no matter if you feel talented or not.
7. You’re not a writer because you have courage. You’re a writer because you’re bigger than your fears and your failures.
8. You’re not a writer because someone gave you permission. You’re a writer because you never seek permission from others to go after your dream.
9. You’re not a writer because you know all the answers. You’re a writer because you’re always asking the questions no one else is asking.
10. You’re not a writer because you’re lonely. You’re a writer because you know you can never be alone when you can create new friends just by picking up a pen and piece of paper.
