I don’t know about you, but it’s been years since I regularly purchased paper newspapers and magazines. I read magazines online. News is available immediately on the Internet.

The days when homes had neatly stacked rows of Encyclopaedias on their shelves are gone. When I look for something that I need, I look online. If I am able to purchase it there and have it delivered to my door, I choose that route. I follow businesses that have interesting, entertaining social media pages and those that blog regularly.

And I am not alone. This Infographic  takes a look at the high street giants that fought and lost when they squared up against the new possibilities offered by the internet.

We have to accept that fact that business has changed forever because of the Internet. If you want your business to stand out in a crowded market, you have to have more than a static website – you have to blog and you have to make use of social media.
