Daily Writing Prompt

Seeing that couple arguing and getting more and more het up made me feel sad. Couples arguing is not an unusual experience but these two were young, attractive and looked as if they used to belong together but perhaps no longer.

When I was in my early 20s I was very fond of/maybe in love with a girl I dated on and off for about a year. We had too many tense moments so I guess I should have been prepared for THAT day.

We were having dinner in our (or at least my) favourite romantic restaurant. The evening started badly and just got worse. We’d finished our main course. I called for the menu just in case we might have something else. Then..she blew her top. I’d seen it coming but didn’t want to see it. The pain still lingers a little 40 years on.
