Kathryn Lasky is an American children’s writer who also writes for adults under the names Kathryn Lasky Knight and E. L. Swann. She is the author of five mysteries and over one hundred books for children and young adults, including the Guardians of Ga’Hoole series. Her books have received numerous awards, including a Newbery Honor, a Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, and a Washington Post-Children’s Book Guild Nonfiction Award.
