Barbara Cartland Quotes

  1. A historical romance is the only kind of book where chastity really counts.
  2. As long as the plots keep arriving from outer space, I’ll go on with my virgins.
  3. Nobody sends up Barbara Cartland better than I do myself. I employ three secretaries and six outside people. I have the biggest Xerox you can buy. It’s a factory here. I’m Top of the Pops and I’ve worked very hard for it.
  4. Good must triumph over evil. It usually does in life and in any case it’s bad for young people to believe it doesn’t.
  5. My heroines are always virgins. They never go to bed without a ring on their fingers; not until page 118 at least.
  6. I would love to employ a man, but how can I possibly give a man dictation from the bath?
