Judith Rossner was an American novelist. She had an unparalleled talent for dramatically uncovering those disturbing emotions we keep hidden. She wrote 10 books, but she is best known for her 1975 novel, Looking for Mr. Goodbar and her 1983 novel, August. Rossner sold the film rights to Looking for Mr. Goodbar for $250,000; the film adaptation was released in 1977. Rossner published her last novel, Perfidia in 1997 to extraordinary reviews. Her papers are held at the Mugar Memorial Library of Boston University.
