I have a cousin who’s charmingly gay. Except on those rare occasions when he’s seriously out of sorts, he loves to refer to people by the name of one flower or another.
He is particularly keen on variety so when the wind blows and the flowers fall he revels in the combination of colours which ensues. Imagine a carpet of what may be described as windfalls. They are just so refreshing to admire. But quickly, please, because the magic of those fresh aromas and the warmth of their silk-like touch are just of the moment.
