Daily Writing Prompt

I have two protagonists. One is from a good English family from whose history and connections it is easy to imagine her achieving notable recognition through the traditional British educational path. She has wholeheartedly embraced that path. It’s exactly what I did and would do again.

My second protagonist came from a similar background but his energy was such that he got bored and frustrated as a teenager. He ran away, joined the French Foreign Legion, had a great time there and has gone on to be a brilliantly successful businessman.

I wish but I couldn’t, wouldn’t and would have tripped over a land mine staring me in the face.
