Daily Writing Prompt

It was a simple email my now ex-husband had left up on the computer screen no horrific pictures but the simple words. I am going to tell her it’s over after Christmas. He went on to explain to his paramour that he was sick of the nagging and off the wall behavior. He would give us one last Christmas as a family and then the “we” we had been would be history and Mr. Right was getting out of Dodge. I was going to show him. If he wanted to sail into the sunset, that was fine but if he thought I was gonna slave over a hot stove cooking a meal as I had last year and have him dive into a bottle of Chivas Regal some executive had given as a bonus for great sales he had another thing coming. On December 8th my eight year old daughter boarded a bus out of his life and spent Christmas with people who really wanted us around.
