Book Review – The Pythagoras Project

by Peter Cronshaw (Porcupine Press) ISBN: 9781918276388

The Pythagoras Project is a thriller that revolves around a new leisure and sporting development planned for the ‘mink and manure’ belt in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, the brainchild of a multinational company. But is it a front for a complex organised crime syndicate?

There’s certainly a good cast of characters to populate this ambitious first novel – from greedy billionaires, sharp security traders, and corrupt politicians. And the plot and subplots explore high finance, drug deals, and even murder.

This local novel is extremely well-written, and well-paced, with enough intrigue to hold your attention. Peter Cronshaw, a former investment banker, writes with confidence as he gives readers an inside-look at the world of big business and even bigger greed.

If you enjoy South African thrillers with an international flavour, this is the one for you.
