From different authors and illustrators, The BIG Book of Animal Stories is composed of eight stories, beautifully illustrated. The book is also available in Afrikaans as Die GROOT Boek met Dierestories.

Zebra receives an invitation from the king of the jungle, Lion, and tells Elephant about it. Elephant is suspicious of the invitation and tries to delay Zebra from going. The invitation gets blown away by the wind and ends up landing on different animals. Lion’s invitation is not a friendly one and Elephant tactically exposes his intentions in the end.

We also meet Giraffe in another story. She is short sighted and refuses to wear glasses. She prefers to wear different things for protection instead until Cheetah sneaks up on her one night and puts the glasses on her. She then sees her reflection in the water while drinking and decides to throw everything else away and keep the glasses.

This is a fascinating read so full of fun.
