Book Review – No Is Not Enough

No Is Not Enough by Naomi Klein (Allen Lane) ISBN 9780241320884

Naomi Klein is an award-winning journalist and author of many international bestsellers. She is also a senior correspondent for The Intercept.

Klein explains how and why Donald Trump became the American President. What he stands for has prevailed for a long time: shock tactics, neo-liberalism, and corporate rule. The rich one per cent keeps getting richer and the winner takes all. This has created a climate of inequality and extreme capitalism. The green zone is for the rich and the red zone is for others. The scourge of the brand bullies and corporate crooks create crises to scare people into compliance.

The author advocates a new way of thinking and acting on how to say no and resist deliberate shock politics. The ideas are in the Leap Manifesto, which states that renewable energy needs to be used widely, race and gender equality addressed, and corporate money used wisely.

This is the essence of Naomi Klein’s book. It is certainly thought-provoking.
