Book Review – MAD

MAD by Chloé Esposito (Michael Joseph) ISBN 978-0-718-18570-1

This novel is every bit as mad as the title suggests. Identical twins Elizabeth and Alvina couldn’t be more different. Or are they?

Enter a world of squalor, glamour, deception, drugs, sex and not to mention multiple violent murders.

It’s clear from the start that even though Elizabeth and Alvina grew up together, they have experienced different childhoods. Elizabeth marries the incredible wealthy and gorgeous Italian, Ambrogio. Alvina has always believed that Elizabeth stole the life that was meant for her, including the delectable Ambrogio. After all, Ambrogio slept with Alvina first, told her she was beautiful and that he loved her.

Esposito takes you on a captivating ride from the dirty streets and famous hotels in London to the dangerous, mountainous, beautiful settings in Italy. All my senses were activated while reading this novel.

Although I found the ending quite predictable, I look forward to her next novel in the trilogy, BAD.
