Book Review – Darcy Dolphin Is A Little Bit Magic!

by Sam Watkins illustrated by Vicky Barker (Egmont UK Ltd) ISBN: 978-1-4052-8423-3

Darcy Dolphin Is A Little Bit Magic! is the “crabulous” diary of young Darcy. She is a kind, caring and very intelligent dolphin. She likes jiggling jelly sandwiches, spending time with her friends, talking and helping people.

Darcy’s pen pal, Coral Crab, is visiting her at Ripple Reef. Unfortunately, she is a bit “crabby”! Darcy has a “fin-tingling” idea that Coral is hiding a huge secret.

With the new Pebble Pals craze at school (where everyone collects and plays with pebbles) and finding out Coral’s huge secret, Darcy almost forgets about the talent show! She needs to come up with an amazing idea that will help her and Coral win.

Although Darcy uses many unfamiliar words (often her own inventions), this is a very easy read. It will help you relax and will definitely expand your vocabulary. I would give this “fintastic” book 4 out of 5. It is an adorable book that will certainly put a smile on your face.
