Interview With Michael Connelly

1.    Who is your favourite hero of fiction?

Philip Marlowe.

2.    What is your most treasured possession?

My signed first edition of The Big Sleep.

3.    Which living person do you most dislike?

Osama Bin Laden.

4.    What is your greatest fear?

The safety of my daughter, Callie (9).

5.    Who or what has been the greatest love of your life?

My wife, Linda.

6.    What is your greatest regret?

I started writing fiction later than I should have.

7.    If you could choose to be a character in a book, who would it be?

Will Graham in Red Dragon.

8.    Which book have you read the most in your lifetime?

Red Dragon because it was the breakthrough book in the serial killer thriller genre.

9.    What is your favourite journey?

To Lake Como in Italy.

10.   What do you most value in a friend?

Trust.

11.   What quality do you most admire in a woman?

Understanding.

12.    Which book that you’ve written is your favourite?

The Last Coyote because it was my first book written as a full time writer.

13.    What advice would you give to aspiring authors?

Keep your head down and write for an audience of one.

15.    What do you do as a hobby?

I love fishing off Tampa Bay, Florida, in my boat.
