But a bout of tonsillitis and a few rainy days, and I persevered.
And overall, I enjoyed the read. The story is that of Ethan Green and his daughter, Daisy who are in New York to acquire a diamond ring from Tiffany’s. The pair stops to help a gentleman knocked over by a taxi who had also just shopped at Tiffany’s on Fifth Avenue. In the process of assisting him, their shopping bags are switched and so begins the string of intricate lies and evasions that make up the plot.
For me, the central characters of Ethan, Vanessa and Daisy, and Gary and Rachel, were not deep or intriguing. But the story did zing along, and I enjoyed the scenery, from New York, to London to Dublin. It is a typical Cinderella-type love story, with a tiny twist.
Perfect for a beach read – especially if you want to watch the waves and the surfers…. A light, bright, fluffy fairy-tale!
