If you read this brilliant book you might not understand all the jargon but it comes down to this.  We wouldn’t need wars anymore. Not the sort of wars we know about.  We’re on the threshold of a new kind of war – where our old wars will seem easy and humane.  In other words a scientific war.
No, this book is not science fiction.  The medical procedures and technologies and weapons that exist in this incredible story might well be weapons of the future.  Some of this work is disturbing and the author says it is all possible. 
Dr Kay Scarpetta solves the riddle of a murder and understands the violence of an Asperger’s boy.  The murderer is a complete surprise.  Viewed through the eyes of the reader, you are in for a mind boggling experience. Weird and yet wonderful. 
Quite a lot to swallow.
