by J.D. Robb (Piatkus) ISBN 978-0-7499-5581-6
Detective Eve Dallas’ past has returned to haunt her.
McQueen, who she arrested when she was a rookie, resurfaces with a vendetta. After McQueen strikes again Eve is consumed with the need to catch him.
J.D. Robb is known for her powerful characters and emotionally charged stories. New York to Dallas does not disappoint and keeps a strong element of character throughout the story. With a strong female lead the story continues to appeal to the established market of J.D. Robb.
I would have preferred less graphic scenes as these became repetitive with continued references to under-aged sex victims of McQueen. The scene of McQueen and his victims appears to be a technique to create emotional drama however I found them a little off-putting.
Overall it is a good read which will continue to entertain the fans of J.D. Robb.
