Carol Anne O’Marie was an American cozy mystery writer and a Roman Catholic nun in the St. Joseph of Carondelet religious order. She wrote 11 ‘priest detective‘ novels, starring Sister Mary Helen, an elderly sister who solves crimes. Most of the books are based in San Francisco, California, where O’Marie was born. The series started with Novena for Murder and ended with Murder at the Monks’ Table. The books are set in the 1980s through the 2000s. Her final book, Like a Swarm of Bees, is about the origins of the Sisters of St. Joseph in the United States.
