Frederick Buechner was an American writer and theologian. He was the author of more than 30 books, which include A Long Day’s Dying and Godric. His work encompasses multiple genres, including fiction, memoirs, essays, sermons, and other non-fiction. Buechner’s books have been translated into 27 languages for publication around the world. In 1982, he became a member of the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters.
