At first I thought this book was only about the night skies of Southern Africa. I was wrong.

Don’t let the size of the book fool you. It is packed with information that every novice astronomer would need and is also a useful reference to the more seasoned enthusiast.

It seems almost impossible to deal with the complex topics of astronomy in such a compact book, but the author manages to do just that. He does a phenomenal job in simplifying complex principles and conveys them clearly. The high quality imagery throughout the book adds to the reading experience.

The author boasts that “no previous knowledge of astronomy is required” in reading this book. He did not exaggerate. This book is excellent in every respect.
