Book Review – The Supper Club

by Phillippa Cheifitz (Struik Lifestyle) ISBN: 978-1-43230-440-9

The Supper Club is a delicious, mouth-watering club that everyone who wants to get cooking should belong to.

Award–winning Cape Town Author and Chef Phillippa Cheifitz brings to the table a smorgasbord of recipes for every occasion. I spent the afternoon with family preparing the Herbed Red Wine Chicken with Mushrooms and Red Onion Confit; coupled with Chicory with Grilled Camembert-and Coppa sandwiches. This is a flavoursome easy-to-make dish that was enjoyed by the young and old.

The photographs are tantalising on their own, but once I combined the actual ingredients, the book came to life and my taste buds celebrated. Her selection of recipes ranges from Flat-roast Duck and Beetroot to Nectarine Almond Tarts. The Pistachio Brittle has not gone very far in my family and lasted only a few hours.

Phillippa has created a beautiful cook-book for all foodies looking for great recipes and wholesome feasts. Treat yourself to some or all of her recipes and your guests will be coming back time after time. Easy to read and digest. The Supper Club belongs on your cookbook shelf.
