Book Review – Paris For One And Other Stories

by Jojo Moyes (Penguin) ISBN 978-0-718-18665-4

I simply love Jojo Moyes. My first Moyes read was Me Before You. Well, needless to say I was just a mess of tears and laughs. Moyes writes beautifully and I love her collection of romantic stories that are funny, quirky and light-hearted.

In Paris for One, Nell has never been to Paris and looks forward to a romantic weekend away with her boyfriend. As Nell waits for him at the train station she receives a text message that he will not make the trip. Even though Nell is disappointed, she throws caution to the wind and gets on the train. Paris For One And Other Stories is about the complications of relationships.

I felt as if I were right there in Paris with Nell, walking the streets and sitting in the cafes. Moyes describes the scenery beautifully, the streets of Paris, the hotel reception area, the very intuitive kind receptionist. Paris for one and other stories certainly makes you think that sometimes we just exist and we don’t live in the moment.

I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. It is a wonderful holiday read.
