With degrees and diplomas in journalism, communication science, marketing and advertising, the Writers Write team has been in the professional writing business for many years. We have also conducted workshops/taught courses for various businesses and government institutions.

Amanda Patterson
Amanda Patterson is the founder of Writers Write. She has researched, developed, written, and taught more than 20 courses on writing. Her signature courses are Writers Write, The Plain Language Programme, and The Complete Blogging & Social Media Course.
Amanda is also an author, a muse, a corporate facilitator, a plain language consultant, and a writing teacher. She has been nominated for many awards, including The South African Woman of the Year, and SA’s Most Influential Women in Business & Government. She still works with South African publishers to promote writers.
Amanda has written five books but she now concentrates on creating writing courses and creating content for Writers Write. She has a social media following of more than 300 000 writing enthusiasts. Follow her on  Facebook,  Pinterest, Google+ , Tumblr and Twitter.

Anthony Ehlers is an accomplished professional with more than 10 years’ experience in copywriting, magazine journalism, public relations and strategic communications.
Anthony has facilitated courses for Writers Write since 2007. Published both locally and internationally, he was twice a runner-up in the Mills&Boon Voice of Africa short story competition. In 2013, his crime short story was included in Bloody Satisfied, an anthology sponsored by the National Arts Festival SA. As a scriptwriter, he has written three television features. Monica Graaff is a multi-award-winning magazine journalist. She has worked in the newspaper and magazine publishing industry both in management and editorial positions. Monica was a lecturer to post graduate journalism students at the University of Stellenbosch.
As a marketer, she was a director of Conservation Corporation Africa, with award winning recognition. She has been a consultant to the City of Cape Town, helping it achieve a number of United Nations awards for exhibitions at major international events, and the Political Press Secretary to the Leader of Opposition, Colin Eglin, in the South African Parliament during the Apartheid era. She is a founding associate of Change Agent, a communications agency focussing on positive change.

Ulrike is a ghost writer, writing consultant, manuscript appraiser and book reviewer. She is the author of Tackling the Brickwall, a non-fiction book about schoolboy rugby in South Africa. She co-authored a book with Debbie Calitz: 20 Months of Hostage Hell.
Ulrike’s 20 years’ experience include teaching English at high school level, and then working with companies such as Microsoft, Lotus, Bidvest and Nedbank in sales and marketing.
Ulrike Hill currently facilitates creative and business writing courses for Writers Write. Ulrike also lecturers English and Communication Science to first and second-year journalism students at Varsity College.
