My Story
“Angle across the road,” shouted Detective Sergeant Will Smith.
Constable Harry Marsh did not react in time. The large block of concrete struck the patrol car at the exact point where the hood and windscreen meet. The speeding car didn’t stand a chance. A block of that size falling or pushed from a bridge was sure to stop any vehicle.
Prisoner Jill Wakefield screamed as she hit the dividing mesh between the front and rear seats. Blood from the crushed detective in the front seat sprayed across her face and chest. The constable’s left arm, wrenched from the wheel, got pinned to the seat.
Out of control, the patrol car somersaulted into the field like a rugby ball. It lost body parts each time it hit the ground. The shell of the car came to rest against a large boulder. It smoldered for a few moments then blew up.
“Did you see that?”
“Yep, a perfect hit! You’re getting better with each one, mate.”
